Cimu Bridge

Bridge of Motherly Devotion
Cimu Bridge is located at the confluence of Liwu River and Laoxi River; therefore, this area is called Heliu (confluence). Cimu Bridge was constructed from marbles, a special product of Hualien, making it pure white with solemn beauty. A marble pavilion, originally called Lan Pavilion, was built by the side of the bridge. Before the construction of the pavilion, it is said that there was a gracious aboriginal mother whose child was away from home and not yet returned. The mother missed her children so much, so she went to the hillside every day looking forward to her children's return. Accordingly, the pavilion was renamed as Cimu (gracious mother) Pavilion.
